Patchwork Card…with sewing
OK, I will admit that I am proud of myself for figuring out this one. LOL. I know it is probably a small thing to all you pro-sewers out there - but until Christmas, I didn’t even know how to make a bobbin!
I really loved doing patchwork designs on cards because it allows you to pull in lots of fun Designer Paper. This card uses all Cosmo Cricket paper - so fun & colorful. I wanted to use up some scraps so I just punched a bunch of sqaures & mounted them on Choc. Chip cardstock. I then used my sewing machine to add white stitching along all the seams, using a zig-zag stitch. SO FUN!! It actually didn’t take that long either…I was surprised…!
The card was still looking a little nekked…so I added this embellishment from Sassafrass & stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts. The whole thing is mounted on some Stampin Up cardstock…I think it’s one of the current In-Colors…maybe it’s called Crushed Curry?
Thanks for stopping by!!

Gorgeous stitching and I love the dp you used!
I LOVE the stitching and hope that I’ll be able to do that once I learn how to sew. I got a machine for Christmas and plan on taking a class soon. Did you take a class? Yours turned out so well for just starting out.
Kerry - this is gorgeous! Love what the stitching does to a card. i really need to learn how to do this. I’m sure it’s not too hard but would also have to buy a machine! It’s lovely!!

Awesome, doesn’t look you need to improve your sewing on paper!
Can’t believe you are new to sewing. Maybe I could do it after all. Love this card!
Wow Kerry, fantastic job! Love the card. Your sewing is great, nice straight lines. I think it really adds to the paper squares. Like this one!!
