colored butterflies, & a GIVEAWAY!!
EDIT: the contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone for commenting & congrats to the winner!!
Hi everyone - I was going to wait to do this post until after I finished a video I’m working on… but I can’t contain my excitement - so I’m just doin’ it.
(by the way, the video focuses on some coloring techniques…like Prisma Colored Pencils & Copics - so stayed tuned)
I love my Copics - and I love things that are quick & easy. So when I saw this technique by the lovely Jennifer McGuire, I knew I had to do it. I stamped a bunch of butterflies using some Hero Arts Cling Stamps and went to town. It’s so much fun to use the Copics & blend colors until you get the result you like.
Now for the real fun…I’m doing my FIRST ever Blog giveaway - the winner will receive these 3 cards below, plus the envelopes. All you need to do is leave me a comment on this post & tell me what you’d like to see MORE of in 2010 on my blog. Lay it on me! Tell me what you’d like to see - do you want a video on something? More info/pictures on a certain technique or product? I’m leaving it WIDE open…so comment away. The winner will be chosen randomly one week from today: Friday 2/5/10. Be sure to leave me your email address or some way I can contact ya!
Also - those envelopes are custom made. I got some questions on what to use for envelopes for 3″x3″ cards. Well, I’ve purchased some through Stampin Up - they are nice. But I also make my own sometimes using my Cricut. I cutout a pocket using the Tags, Bags Boxes & More cartridge - and then just trimmed the upper part of the pocket off, then punched a semi-circle with a 1.25″ circle punch.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. It’s CHILLY up here in MA - so I will be locked in my craft room w/ the heat on full blast being creative. Sounds like heaven to me!

HI!! These cards are super cute! I love them! I would love to see more videos in general. You have so many cute things and ideas that more videos would allow me to see just how you do things. So far I have watched all your videos and made some of the things you have. I also have to say I like the videos with you speaking on them versus just the music! I love to hear your little tips and tricks that are missed in the videos with just music! Thanks for this chance!
Love the butterflies!
Would like to see more goodies for kids, to be given out at school or for VD, Easter, party favors * not necessarily candy*… My daughter is in 3rd grade and they love mechanical pencils and stuff they can actually use.
Beautiful butterflies. I started out making scrapbook pages and now love making cards. Still in a rut always for boys and big boy gifts and cards. Any help there would be great.
Absolutely beautiful butterflies. I like everything about your blog. I am new to heat embossing so anything cool using the heating tool would be nice.

I love your blog - you are so talented! I’d love to see more “sets” of cards using the same materials. For example: 4 different cards made with the same papers & stamp set… I hope that makes sense. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas!
These cards are soooo adorable. I will have to check out the technique. I love your blog and look forward to each of your projects. If I could request one thing it would be more for your Technique section. Because after all “I want to grow up to scrap just like you” Thanks for sharing your amazing talent with all of us.

I just by accident found your website after Christmas. I love it!!! I am a PTO president, so I love the things that you do for your craft sales. I have already made one of the note pad holders for one of my daughters teachers. I am also going to order some of the windowed boxes to put choc. in for the teachers. Simple but nice!!!! Love love love them all.
thats soo grt!.. thanks for sharing!
What I like about your website is the variety of projects you do, from the bookmarks, door hangers, to cards. I would love to sometime see a video of some of your purchases, like the Tim Holtz sizzix dies or your PTI order. I guess that is being too nosy, sorry, but it is fun to see what other people are using. I always look forward to seeing your videos and I also like when you give specific directions. You are really talented.
Loved the butterflies! I wished you would do a video on more “manly” gifts! I love all your craft fair ideas and have been inspired to do many of them myself. Thanks, Maria
