Valentines Goodies + A video tutorial!

February 4th, 2010

Hi everyone - thanks SO much for all the comments you’ve left this week. I read each & EVERY comment - especially the ones that contain things you’d like to see more of on the blog. (sidenote: you have ONE DAY left to leave a comment HERE if you haven’t already…for a chance to win a prize!)

I’ve already started acting on some of your feedback - so with that, I give you some fun Treats for Valentine’s Day - plus a video showing you how I made them!

These are great because you can stick anything inside them - and adapt them to ANY holiday or occasion. I had a few people say they would like to see things that are more practical - things that can be used…instead of just candy. This sort of combines the 2. I had some fun pencils lying around so I thought I’d find a way to creatively wrap them up as a fun little gift.

And to respond to even MORE awesome feedback from my readers, I thought I’d whip up a “boy version”. These are some robots from both Cosmo Cricket (paper) and Hero Arts (stamp). What boy doesn’t love Robots!?!!

I added a wooden heart from Martha Stewart to give it a small Valentine’s touch…but nothing too girly. (the Robot was colored using Copics). The pencil has motorcycles on it. Very “boy”.

OK, here’s the “how to” video! If you can make it through listening to my corniness…then I give you credit. LOL. I HATE listening to myself on these videos, ugh!

Really great idea! Thanks for sharing this - and, BTW, my favorite tool is the one I happen to be using at the moment too!! I also like the look of the MS score pad (I have ScorPal and use it constantly!) - will check the MS one out!

Sooooo cute! I love making valentines goodies, I am in looove with Paper Trey Inks Valentine Treat Stamp set, it is sooo cute. I even called in to work a couple days so I could create like crazy (Maybe I am crazy) Anywho I love the fact that you have such a messy area, I don’t see how any greater crafter can not be messy and still know exactly where everything is! These are super cute, love your work, have a great weekend!

I just love it!!! There are too sweet and girly, two thing that I love so much. The Martha Stewart’s paper and embelishments are very cute and the papertray’s ribbon matched perfectly. Also, I like the heart pencil and the lollipop is too cute for eat ;). Greetings from Mexico, Liz

I wish I had all your “Favorite” tools in my craft room. I’m putting them on my birthday list. As always, I loved the video. You always do a great job. No worries! I’m going to try this Valentines Day project for my Son’s upcoming classroom party. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the great work! :)

You always have the best ideas! These are so cute and I can’t wait to try them! I love my Martha Stewart scoring tool - I also never had the scor pal and now can’t imagine not having a scoring tool. I laughed out loud at you trying to get the envelope template put back - it took me forever to figure that out!

Love these cute treat holders. Don’t have little kids who hand out Valentines any more, but I make and give them to my teacher friends at school.
