Gift Card Ornaments

Tuesday, October 28, 2008
Hi everyone - I've been somewhat quiet lately...sorry about that! I've still been crafting away, just haven't been able to take many photos.

I wanted to share with you the Gift Card Holders that I mentioned last week. I've been making these for a few weeks now, and they are super fun & cute. I saw them in the latest issue of Papercrafts Magazine, and I thought how CUTE is this for giving someone a gift card this Christmas?? Check out my Mini-Tree full o'cards!!

I've added lots of photos of my creations, and I even filmed a little VIDEO for ya!! I have to apologize as #1 - I'm not even sure that I'm doing this right (I just sort of figured out from looking at the photo in the magazine) and #2 - my camera stinks! It's just a regular digital camera that I use in video mode. Maybe Santa will bring me a Flip for Christmas :)

EDIT: It's now showing as HIGH Quality on youtube! Please click HERE to watch the video and choose "watch in high quality" in the bottom right corner. Thanks!

**NOTE** the Gift Card Holder pictured above does NOT have furry black & white feet! That would be my CAT Max, who LOVES to chew on fake Christmas Trees and simply would NOT move outta my way while I was taking photos. *sigh*. He is too cute though so I can't be mad :)

Anyway, I hope you get the idea from what I've filmed. I couldn't help but add some xmas tunes to get into the spirit...it will be here before you know it!

Thanks for stopping by - please watch & let me know what you think!

Altered Notebooks...& a Video

Friday, August 22, 2008
woah, 2 posts in one day!

I've completed editing this video of me altering a Notebook. It's pretty straight forward really so not much text or instruction. If you have any questions on techniques or supplies, just leave me a comment and I will reply!

These notebooks are going to my 2 nephews, and one to Matthew. Matthew is 6 years old and loves to draw. He was the Ring Bearer in our wedding and is very close to my family! I figured I would give him something fun to put all his drawings into. He also loves Baseball and of course the Red Sox.

Hope you enjoy the video!

just a quick video...

Friday, August 15, 2008
here is a quick little iMovie that I put together of me making a Scrapbook Page. The photo is from our honeymoon in Hawaii. It was a self-portrait (aka Pete holding the camera out) of us on a Black Sand Beach on the Big Island. OHH how I long to be back...can you tell I'm missing it?!?

Anyway, the quality isn't that great - sorry. One of these days I will invest in an actual nice camcorder...right now I'm just using my digital camera.

I have another video coming soon. Just have to finish editing & what not. Enjoy :)

video: doggie photo holder

Sunday, June 29, 2008
I don't have a dog. BUT: there are lots of cute papers & embellishments out there for doggies. I was putting together a scrapbook for my kitty (which I will share with you later on this week!) - and I had lots of puppy paper left over. I decided to do something with it.

I also had to figure out what to do with the 100+ coasters we have leftover from our wedding last September. We ordered them for the bar area and apparently they didn't use very many? So now I have 150 coasters that say "Eat, Drink & be Married - Kerry & Peter 09.22.07". haha. The good thing is, there are plenty of crafty ways to use 'em. These are some pictures of what I came up with, and I also created a little video of me putting it all together.

This isn't really an official tutorial, as I didn't do much explaining in the video (it's pretty self explanatory) - but if you have questions on specifics let me know. I can't do the whole "talk while I video myself" thing yet (i'm scared!) - so I just put it to some tunes. It was super easy to make and didn't take too much time.

Hope you enjoy it! (it's sorta long!!)

Tutorial: Altered Binder Clip

Monday, May 19, 2008
I had a few more requests for video tutorials (woo!) so this weekend I tried to make one again. I think this one came out a little better with the camera angle...I'm getting the hang of it!

This week I decided to video me altering a Binder Clip from Staples. I buy the medium binder clips (1 1/4" sized), usually a bunch of them to a package. They are really simple to make, and it's a great way to use up all the small pieces of scrap paper you have lying around. This clip is made to hold a picture of your favorite canine friend!

Hope you Enjoy the video!

my *first* video tutorial...

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

I recieved some emails from Blog Readers asking me for more information on how I make my altered clipboards, paperclips and clothespins. I decided that rather than type out a long email response, I would show you!

So here is my very first attempt at creating a Video Tutorial. I'm still getting used to the camera angle, trying to find a better way to position my camera. I used iMovie to edit this film - it's one of my favorite pieces of software. I've used it several times before to make movies & slideshows, so it really didn't take long to whip this one together! I hope you all enjoy it! Please leave me a comment and tell me what else you'd like to see. I think I'm going to do one of the Jumbo Clothespins next!

Thanks for looking :)
